You may have in the recent past received a sms from a mobile phone subscriber whose number is unknown to you, claiming to have mistakenly sent money to your M-Pesa account, and requesting you to send it back to them, only to realize later that it was all a scam. Sometimes the money is actually sent and in the process of refunding the money to the sender, you still end up being conned. Such incidents are on the rise with fraudsters taking advantage of people using the M-Pesa money transfer service. So what should one do when in such a situation? Well, Willis Raburu spoke to mobile phone service provider Safaricom and some victims of the fraud and filed the following report.
